We had a challenge of creating Lab spaces within an already existing Laboratory. From the brief that we got from user’s, it was clear that they were looking at us to create something different, non-monotonous and not a typical lab. Since there were two different types of lab requirements, our concepts too were different and totally customized.

Lab Architecture and Interior Design

Consumer immersion was activity oriented and so we thought of different shapes for furniture. This area was also meant for brain storming and co-creation activities where the participants would work with various materials, textures, idea boards etc. Vibrant colours were used for table tops and display cabinet to create aesthetics and be motivational to users. Movable furniture was planned to enable flexibility since was one of the main criterion. We thought of blending an absolute pure white table top with vibrant coloured purple carpet and accentuated by bright lights for conference room since it was a facility on sharing basis. Having said that, we also had to ensure that our designs blended well within the already existing set-up and did not appear anomalous.
